Facts: Maggie Budden (née Horne) of Cape Breton, is widely recognized as Canada’s first female Red Seal certified ironworker, becoming a pioneering figure in the industry after obtaining her certification in 2003. She has worked on projects across Canada, from the East Coast to the oil patch in the west. Other notable figures include trailblazers Elise Mailloux (Alberta) and various Mohawk ironworkers like Janice Albany, Tiffany Johnson, and Lu Ann Styres.
