Recognizing Jayde Hudson, a farrier from Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, is a great example of how non-traditional roles are bringing women to the forefront of the science of farriery. As a farrier, Jayde’s work can be physically demanding, and she’s had her share of injuries, including being kicked, thrown, and even having a tooth knocked out. n recent years, Jayde has noticed an increase in female farrier students, however, the industry still has a way to go in terms of gender equality, with only 10% of farriers in Saskatchewan being women.

This design was created to honour all the female farriers out there- hats off to you!
